Call for nominations for SAWMA Council: 2025 – 2027
The Southern African Wildlife Management Association is calling on all active members to nominate candidates to serve on the next SAWMA council. A second member must co-sign nominations. Only paid-up individual members of SAWMA are eligible to vote.

NOTE: There will be no election of the Secretariat and Journal Editor. These are council appointments. (Par.9.2.2; 9.3.3 – Constitution.) There will also be no direct election of a President by the members of the Association, as the serving, elected vice-president shall automatically assume the presidency. (Par. 9.2.1 –Constitution)
The elected Vice-President and Treasurer shall be the nominees who receive the most votes specifically for these offices. The six (6) additional members shall be elected from the remaining nominees, who shall include the unsuccessful candidates for the positions of Vice-President and Treasurer. In the event of two or more nominees receiving the same number of votes, the final decision shall be taken by a majority vote of those members present at the Annual General Meeting. (See par. 9.2.6 of the Constitution). If more nominations are received than there are vacancies, the Secretary shall compile a list of nominees on a voting paper, and an election shall be held at the AGM on Wednesday, 13 August at 14h30.
A council member can be re-elected for another term in office, depending on what kind of services they provide to the organisation, and if they are willing to be nominated for another term.

These nominations must reach us no later than Wednesday, 3 September at 12h00 to allow for compilation of ballot papers in time for the AGM to be held on the afternoon of 3 September.
